Marbella went through a bad patch back in the eighties and early nineties, and when it was cleaned up by the late fascist mayor Jesús Gil, it was at the cost of uncontrolled urban development and widespread corruption. But, hey, that doesn't mean it isn't a nice place to visit. Here is the Spanish-only municipal website.
