Climbing the Teide

The Teide being Spain's highest mountain (in spite of being in Africa), a volcano, with the curiosity-value that apports to northern European fellwalkers, and having a cablecar to take you most of the way up makes it an irresistible temptation for many, and access is logically restricted. The Teide Observatory

If you need an excuse to go up the Teide, here is one. This site claims that "Astrophysics began in this observatory." And who am I to differ?

Walking in Tenerife

An account of a hike over Tenerife (not just the Teide) several years ago, when it seems to have been much less popular for walking.
