Platja d'Aro

Platja d'Aro or Playa D'Aro is the beach area of the village of Castell d'Aro, the muncipality as a whole having statistics like these: population, around 7,000; number of hotel beds, nearly 5,000; number of second homes, over 9,000. So it is an important resort, if a little too residential for some tastes. The village of Castell d'Aro itself has a very partially restored ruined castle and little else, even the town hall having been moved down to the beach decades ago.
