EGEAC

Lisbon's municipal Culture and Events Department's Portuguese-only site is well worth a look at, especially for information about festivals and the like.

Lisboa Cultural

Worthy attempt by Lisbon City Council to provide a complete guide to What's On in Lisbon: cinema, concerts, theatre, exhibitions, festivals, and so on. It is still in its early days and lacking an English-language version, but is a pleasure to use.

Lisbon (Lisboa)

An excellent, though Portuguese-only, city council site which does not feel like one. The specifically municipal information is linked to from the first menu in the column on the left, and the more general material like history and culture from the right-hand column.

Lisbon Tourist Board

A subsite of the city council's website. The city map is very slow to load, but quite spritely thereafter and tremendously useful.

Parque das Naçöes

The Parque das Naçöes was built for Expo 98. It now contains the 140-m Vasco de Gama Tower and a cable car, and its pavilions house an oceanarium, exhibition centre, bowling centre, virtual reality centre, the Knowledge Pavilion (a kind of science museum) and a concert hall. Fairs of different kinds (coins and stamps, antiques, etc.) are held here on Sundays.

Turismo de Lisboa

The Associação Turismo de Lisboa is an assocation of all Lisbon's public and private tourist organizations. The site is large and has a great deal to offer, though it is more oriented towards tourist studies, business visitors and current or future happenings - festivals, concerts, trade fairs and the like - than to the city itself and its attractions.

Visit Lisboa

A new portal for Portugal's capital, from the Associação de Turismo de Lisboa. It is a mite Java-heavy, though, and can cause freezing and crashes.
