PuntoInfo

The Tenerife Tourist Board's website seems to have been written as a printed book and pretty much put on the Net as is, and as a print book probably works quite well, for the information is undeniably complete (though the accommodation finder is a waste of bandwidth). Still, gripes aside, if you dig around you will find almost everything you could want to know about Tenerife, and I thoroughly enjoyed the guide to the Teide National Park.

E-tenerife

Aimed at both residents and tourists, this is a well-intentioned but scrappy site, especially entering through its homepage. But it has tons of content and its most endearing quality is its good humour.

About Tenerife

These "About" sites have nothing to do with the About.com network for which I once worked, but rather are elaborate advertisements for the don Quijote chain of language schools. They are no less informative or entertaining for that.

Canaries-live.com

OK, the URL says Canaries, but this site is Tenerife-specific and a thoroughly professional affair. Apart from the numerous bikini-clad young ladies strewn decoratively around the site, its strong point is places to see, including good coverage of beaches, but it also deals with essentials like medical care, drinking water, Tenerife for gays, and so on. Its main aim is to sell you hotel reservations, and there is nothing wrong with that, so is mine. In spite of this and its few inaccuracies (the Canaries are not in Europe, and if you think the age of consent in Spain is 16, whether you are gay or heterosexual, you could find serious trouble just around the corner), I recommend it.
