Cabildo El Hierro

The English-language version of the island government's website is fine, but old-fashioned and excessively modest in its ambitions. The Spanish-language version is much more satisfactory, and even has a jolly version of the Cabildo's official tune (since when did governments have official tunes? I suppose they mean it is the island's anthem). Did you know El Hierro is called the Meridian Island because the prime meridian used to be drawn through it, until Greenwich came along?
