If you are youngish and on the party hunt, you may find Murcia more enjoyable in termtime, Murcia's substantial student population attending either this or the private, Catholic San Antonio University. Here's a curiosity: if it were not for the subdirectory that takes you to this English-language corner of the University of Murcia's website, this would be the shortest URL I had ever seen.

The municipal tourist board's website has some attractive propositions such as a tour of Moorish Murcia. And it tells you that Murcia is twinned with Miami, about as different an experience as you could imagine.
