Ajuntament d'Alcoi

The capital of the industrialized L'Alcoià county of Alicante, Alcoy or Alcoi is an inland town of little interest to visitors in itself, but is a must for fiesta collectors. Firstly, its Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, the procession of the Three Wise Men/Kings held on the eve of Epiphany (January 5), is the oldest in Spain (at least 1866). Secondly and more interestingly, its Moors and Christians festival, held in April, is one of the most famous in the country. The link goes to the not very informative municipal website, in Valencià and Castilian Spanish only.
