Oropesa del Mar

This commercial website describes Oropesa as "a typically Mediterranean village of the Orange blossom coast," and so it is, complete with overly built up beachfront and moderately picturesque old town. The nearby coast is well worth exploring, though the vast, totally commercial Marina d'Or resort may well not appeal to many of Spain and Portugal for Visitors' visitors.

Oropesa del Mar

Nice but Spanish-only municipal website for Oropesa del Mar, a surprisingly nice but-far-from-Spanish-only resort town which, to add another contradiction, has never been a port to speak of, not even a fishing village or any other "del Mar," but rather grew up as an agricultural centre of some importance, hence the castle and tower needed to protect it from pirates.
