Alvaro Domecq

Another Domecq? Yup, and this sumptuous website is worth visiting for this bodega's history alone.

Barbadillo

Wine name more associated with Sanlúcar de Barrameda than with Jerez de la Frontera, though as Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda has been merged with Sherry as a DO, Barbadillo belongs here. It makes excellent white table wines such as Castillo de San Diego, better known than its sherry-type wine.

Bodegas Tradición

Sherry maker of which I am completely ignorant, though they are supposed to have organized visits.

Fundador Pedro Domecq

Though most of the Pedro Domecq empire now belongs to Pernod, the brandy name Fundador Pedro Domecq seems to have regained its separate nature. It is a visitable cellar, and a recommendable one.

Garvey

A great name in sherry, Garvey offers one of the most interesting cellar tours, available at times (Sundays and holidays) when you may find other cellars closed.

Harveys

Harvey's is a fine and famous old sherry maker (now belonging to Pedro Domecq, which is part of Allied Domecq, which in turn belongs to Pernod Ricard). It is best known for its Bristol Cream, the first cream sherry and still the most successful. The winery and its museum can be visited April to September, though you may have to book ahead, especially for a Sunday visit.

Maestro Sierra

Small bodega, handily in the centre of Jerez so easier to visit than others.

Osborne

Osborne is immense, and so successful at marketing that its black bull, the one you will see at the side of practically every highway in Spain, is emblazoned on the Spanish flags of many football supporters. It has not forgotten its roots in Jerez and El Puerto de Santa María, though, and its Mora winery is visitable, though you need to book ahead.

Pedro Domecq

One of the oldest winemakers in Spain, going back two and a half centuries, though first merged with Allied Breweries as Allied Domecq then acquired by Perno Ricard. Pedro Domecq is a huge force in sherry, though you will find very little information about that on this Mexico-based corporate site.

Sandeman

"Isn't that a port?" I hear you cry, and of course it is, but Sandeman has been making sherry for centuries, as well, and is one of the best equipped for visiting.

Williams & Humbert

Relatively small, relatively new (a mere 125 years old) sherry winemaker with what they claim is the "biggest bodega in Europe," visits to which have a horse show thrown in. You'll need Flash and pop-ups enabled to see the website.
