Câmara Municipal de Marvão

Marvão is a lovely little walled village, the highest in Portugal, strung along rather than perched on a high ridge overlooking the Serra de S. Mamede nature reserve north of Portalegre, near the border with Spain. For such a tiny little place (pop. 645), it has a lot to see: the walls, of course, a splendid castle, churches, a convent.. and there is more in the surrounding area. This is the Portuguese-only municipal website..

Albergaria El-Rei Dom Manuel

A boarding house in the mediaeval hilltop village of Marvão, included here because its website has some "touristy" information, including pics.
