D.O. Campo de Borja

The wine denominación de origen of this agricultural county in the north-west of the province of Zaragoza. The county lies at the foot of Mount Moncayo, the highest mountain in mainland Spain (itself the second highest country in Europe after Switzerland, as I never tire of pointing out) at 2,314 metres. Campo de Borja is a smallish, historic wine-making area which produces good but not top quality red, rosé and white wine. If you are visiting the area, the Monastery of Veruela has a small wine museum.
