The denominación de origenTarragona comprises "73 municipalities located mainly in the regions of Camp de Tarragona and part of the Ribera d´Ebre." It is a historic wine-making region, as is common in Spain, but more so, having produced highly appreciated Tarroconensis wine for the Roman Empire.
