Ayuntamiento de Toro

The small Zamoran city of Toro is the capital of the wine-making region of the same name, of considerable historic interest in itself, and a centre of Mudéjar art. The link goes to its municipal website, beautifully designed though only half-finished at the time of writing, only available in Spanish, but with a goodly number of photos.

D.O. Toro

The Toro wine region lies either bank of the Duero, in the south of Zamora and the north of Valladolid. It is one of the up-and-coming wine regions of Spain (or would be if it hadn't been up-and-coming for so many years, now), and produces very fine, mostly red wine, from the Tinta de Toro grape variety, rivalling Spain's more famous Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Priorat regions. As a region in vogue, it exports a goodly proportion of its output and markets heavily and well, so it is not surprising that the website of the D.O. Toro's regulatory board to which the link goes is available in Spanish, English, German and Japanese.
