Peralada

Perelada or Peralada is a mediaeval village and rural municipality near Figueres, with a spectacular castle, generally called "El Castillo," which is the centre of a surprisingly extensive wine-making and leisure-management business. As well as the castle, the village has a Carmelite monastery and a couple of nice churches and is atmospheric and enjoyable - it also hosts an annual music festival. The link goes to the municipal web site, which describes Peralada as a "vila-resort."
