Link profile: Federico García Lorca's Birthplace

Category: Start / Great Cities of Spain / Granada
Lorca spent his childhood in Fuente Vaqueros, a village now adjacent to Granada airport. Its name means "the cowherd's spring," which indicates how rural the place was, though the fact that Lorca's mother was a schoolteacher gives the house a touch of bourgouis. This website is only in Spanish: if you are planning to visit the museum, it is only a 20 minute bus ride away from the city, but you would do well to check the times of visits (under "Información) - it closes in the afternoon in summer.
