Category: Start / Spain and its Regions / Valencia / Valencia (Province) / Costa de Valencia / Sagunto
A few kilometres north of Valencia lies the ancient town of Sagunto which was besieged and razed by Hannibal, setting off the Second Punic War. It has a lot of Roman remains, including a Roman theatre which is used for concerts and the like. It also has a judería, Jewish quarter, interesting churches and a mediaeval Plaza Mayor, apart from its beaches.
