Link profile: Ayuntamiento de Antequera

Category: Start / Spain and its Regions / Andalusia / Málaga / Antequera
Being inland, slap-bang in the middle of Málaga province, Antequera is usually overlooked by visitors. This is a great shame, as it is a fabulous not-so-little place, chock-full of old houses and palaces, chapels, churches and convents, and historic squares and gardens. Added attractions include the countryside around, particularly the Sierra de Torcal (usually described as "surreal" because of its weird rock formations) in the shadow of which it sits, and archaeological remains from prehistoric to Roman, especially its roofed dolmens. The link goes to its informative, entertaining but Spanish-only municipal website.
