Category: Start / Spain and its Regions / Old Castile and León (Castilla-León) / Burgos
The monastery famous for its chart-busting Gregorian Chants has a tremendous collection of early sheet music, and is also important for its special place in the history of the written Spanish language. It is a fabulous place to visit, especially for its Romanesque cloisters, and is still very much a working monastery, the to-and-fro of tourists seeming to be for the amusement of the monks rather than the other way round. Spanish-only website, in spite of the monastery's international popularity: go to Gregoriano > Escuchar Gregoriano for the mp3's.
