Link profile: Sierra de Gredos

Category: Start / Spain and its Regions / Old Castile and León (Castilla-León) / Ávila / Sierra de Gredos
As this page from the Castile and León Tourist Board's website points out, the Sierra de Gredos is "a spectacular succession of lakes, cirques, gorges, knife-edged ridges, crags, granite boulders and moraine deposits." As a nature reserve, it is a parque regional, administered by the regional government, for it stretches from the province of Cáceres in the west to the province of Madrid in the east, though it is in Ávila that it is at its highest and most spectacular.
