Puente Genil is the largest town in the Montilla-Moriles wine-producing area, its nearly 29,000 inhabitants making it larger even than Montilla. It is also one of the most interesting places to visit, having an attractive 18th-century bridge and a number of old churches and being overlooked by a castle which was the site of the Battle of Arnizol in the 12th century.
