Vines and olives are the traditional economic base for the Terra Alta region, and it is a denominació d'origen of interest. The strong (up to 15º), straw-coloured, white wine is the more traditional (as is common elsewhere in Spain), but rosés and reds (including reservas and gran reservas) are also made, as well as a hard-to-find, very strong dessert wine.
