Link profile: Trabanca

Category: Start / Spain and its Regions / Old Castile and León (Castilla-León) / Salamanca
Trabanca is a pleasant little place (population about 250) in the Arribes de Duero nature reserve, and set to become the headquarters for the new Duero-Douro EGTC, a kind of cross-border grouping of villages. The link goes to its municipal website, which tells you how happy they would be to show you around the old blacksmith's forge, or the pottery, or the "Traditional Buildings Theme Park," or the Visitors' Centre for the nature reserve, and if you would like to turn up for the monthly Portuguese flea market or cabrito, kid goat, de Arribes in the local restaurant, they will be delighted to see you as well. How on earth do 250 people including infants and the elderly manage to do all that?
