Magalluf has a reputation as a young people's (not to say lager louts') resort, which is at least to a certain extent justified. If high-rise is not your thing and, especially, if you are bothered by noise and serious partying and all that entails, this may not be the place for you and you would be advised to at least check to see what kind of neighbours you are likely to have. On the other hand, you can find really good hotel deals for Magalluf, developments are usually of good quality (when finished) and most people have a great time there. Palma Nova is a slightly quieter place, mainly because it is a little less developed, and said to be a good place for a holiday with children.
