Manacor is an inland town and the second largest centre of population on the island. Though not particularly a tourist magnet, it is interesting and, more importantly for visitors, its muncipality includes a number of minor calas and, especially, the attractive fishing village of Porto Cristo. Manacor itself is most famous for the artificial pearls (Majorica) invented and made there.
