- DO Arlanza
New wine denominación de origen, though wine has been made here since the 10th century. The link should take you to the web site of the new consejo regulador, but at the time of writing, it is not ready - click "este" to see the informative and interesting web site of the old association it is replacing. This points out that "inside the region there exist places of great cultural and tourist interest as for example: Lerma, Santo Domingo de Silos, Covarrubias, Santa Mª del Campo, Mahamud…There also exist areas with a beautiful landscape such as La Sierra de Covarrubias and the defile of la Yecla," which takes you outside the actual area but would undoubtedly make a sweet touring break.

- Santo Domingo de Silos
The monastery famous for its chart-busting Gregorian Chants has a tremendous collection of early sheet music, and is also important for its special place in the history of the written Spanish language. It is a fabulous place to visit, especially for its Romanesque cloisters, and is still very much a working monastery, the to-and-fro of tourists seeming to be for the amusement of the monks rather than the other way round. Spanish-only website, in spite of the monastery's international popularity: go to Gregoriano > Escuchar Gregoriano for the mp3's.
