From a site called "Show Caves," which, like others, refers to Altamira as "The Sistine Chapel of Palaeolithic art."

I don't know who is responsible for this site, but it doesn't seem to be official in any way, mainly consists of links and is in Spanish only.

The Altamira Caves, famous for their Palaeolithic cave paintings and for being so popular there is now a three-year waiting list to see them. For that reason, the new Altamira Museum includes the "Neocueva," a reproduction of the caves and their paintings which is almost indistinguishable from the original (note that it is also advisable to obtain your tickets for the Neocueva in advance).
