The "de la Frontera" after the town's name tells you that Chiclana was a town founded on the reconquista of Andalusia, then deliberately settled to establish the Christian presence in the area. So it is a historic place, not dazzlingly beautiful but very likeable. The link above goes to its town council's website, as charming a municipal effort as I have seen, and even available in English.
