Am moving to the Costa del Sol with the family in October. I don't speak Spanish, and it seems really difficult. Is it as hard as it seems, and is it worth the trouble of learning?

Spanish is about as easy to learn as languages get. For one thing, it is pronounced as it is written, so you don't have to learn all your vocabulary twice. Whether it is worth it depends on you - I know people in Benidorm who have been there for decades without learning the language, but most of them are a miserable lot, always whinging about something, usually Spaniards. And if your kids are going, they'll soon pick up some Spanish, so won't that make you feel left out if you don't speak a word? For a bit more information, have a look at this page http://www.spainforvisitors.com/sections/learnspanishonline.htm.

Hi again, Carrie; I know people from England living here some years ago; they came speaking not a word in Spanish; now it's a fact that most of them can speak Spanish fluently and so their children. It is worth it.

You can come and work and live here, and take some time to study Spanish. At first it's going to be hard but you'll get it.

Unregistered User I am currently sourcing contributors for a TV programme called Property Budget Fit and I came across your note on this forum?I wondered if this might be of interest to you?

The programme is designed to find and film properties on behalf of people who are contemplating a move to Costa del Sol/Andalucia. We work within specified budget and requirements and also source useful information about the area that might be of interest. The objective is to demonstrate the kind of lifestyle options available in the region and also to be the ?eyes and ears? of potential UK buyers in Spain.

We film your profile i.e. what you are looking for, then show you the footage of our presenter giving a critique of the properties that you have specified and then we film your reactions. We are visting people in the UK and in Spain and any filming can take place on a Saturday for only a couple of hours.

If you are interested in taking part in this new series broadcasting on Sky TV or if you think that you might know of others who are interested in finding out about property options then don?t hesitate to call or email me asap on any of the contacts below?

Very best wishes
