Hello,

My boyfriend and myself are looking to book a holiday this summer, as I am a teacher I have to take it during the summer holidays. We are unsure of where to go, and have never been to any of the Balearic Islands before. We have heard that Puerto Pollensa is lovely in the summer.

A few questions:

Does anyone have any contacts with people who have villas in the Balearics?
Has anyone ever been to Ibiza before, and stayed outside of the main clubbing centre? Was there much to see/do/beaches?
Are there any other places that you would reccommend to go on holiday this year?

Many thanks for all your help, as I want to get this booked quite soon, what with flight prices increasing by the day!!

Puerto Pollensa would be a good choice. See http://spainfor...lid-1312.htm. If that's the sort of Majorca you are looking for, Alcudia, or Puerto Soller might also be of interest to you - villas are not as thick on the ground in that corner of the island as they are in the south, but I'm sure you'll find something.

Ibiza is beautiful but can be boring if clubbing is not your thing. Have you thought of Minorca? It's the least spoilt of the Balearics and my favourite - I prefer Ciutadella and the western end, nothing wrong with Mahón and the east, though.
