Unregistered User	HI My Husband (52) me (51) my daughter (25) and her partner (28) are spending Christmas in a hotel 15 mins walk from Bendidorms 'life'. We have never been abroad at Christmas before or to Benidorm. Can anyone tell us what the weather forecast is for the christmas week, also what sort of clothes do we pack, are shorts and t.shirts and flip flops out for the day time? Is a suit type jacket enough for the evenings or will we need English coats? Any suggestions where to go day and night time to suit all of us? We are really looking forward to the Holiday and can't wait to get there. Thanks in anticipation for your help. Regards Karen

The Costa Blanca does have a particularly mild winter climate, but I think shorts and flip-flops are a bit optimistic, even with the sun shining. Weather forecasts for Alicante on Friday say around 59Â° F / 15Â° C max during the day, nice but far from scorching, and 50Â° F / 10Â° C min that night, which is pleasant but coolish. English-type coats might be more than necessary, but I'd have thought you would want some kind of not very heavy overgarment (which you are going to take just in case anyway, aren't you?). Unregistered User	Hi Peter, Thanks for the reply but I'm even more confused now! I also put the same message on the costa blanca message board and have been told that shorts and t shirts should be fine as long as we have cardys or something long sleeved and the evening just needs a fleece or warm light jacket. Evidently last Christmas day they were sunbathing on the beach! Don't know what to do now. What do you mean by an over outfit? Raincoat type?? :-?

I was just passing on the CNN forecast for Alicante, and it is true that Benidorm is often noticeably warmer, even though it's next door. By overgarment, I meant an anorak or bomber jacket, or a fleece would probably do - something warmer than a cardigan.

Unregistered User	OK, will probably wear a coat to go anyway as it will be freezing here and def will need one when we get back if the promise of snow is correct! Mind you we might have to stay out there if there's too much snow and the airport is closed :) So I will have that with me if the evenings are too cold, I'm not too fussed about cold legs in the day so a fleece jacket will prob suffice. Really looking forward to it and its nice to get away from the 'mania' of Christmas food shopping in the U.K. anyone would think people are stocking up for a month not two days!! Never know as we are flying on Christmas Eve might get to see Santa flying past. :lol: Thanks again and have a great Chrissie and New Year.
