Ibiza Fun/ Feast of the Assumption

Anonymous Posted: 04.07.2005, 10:20
Unregistered User Hi There,

I'm visiting Ibiza for the first time in August and have found out that the feast of the assumption falls during my stay. On reccomendation from some friends who have just got from Ibiza, I was hoping to check out a fiesta and wondered whether the Assumption was one of these or just a national holiday? I'll be staying in Es Cana and wondered if anyone could please tell me of anything that might be going on in the area or within easy travelling distance (but not by car... I simply REFUSE to spend my holiday driving about - I do enough of that in this country!)

Also, another couple of questions whilst we're on the subject, if someone could be so kind as to answer them:

1. Last Summer I went to Corfu, where hiring Quad bikes seems to be replacing scooter hire as the cheap and easy option... can anyone please tell me whether this is the case in Ibiza too?

2. What is the nature of Es Cana? I've heard it's very family-oriented and although I'm not really interested in the full-on clubbing scene like in S.Ant, I definately want a bit of nightlife and hopefully some people around the same age (early 20s) :-P

and finally... 3. I've heard mention of watersports that are available in Es Cana... can anyone enlighten me as to what watersports these might be?

Thanks very much!

You'll want to take a look at this thread about Es Cana.

La asunción is a big religious festival everywhere in Spain, but I don't really know if anything out of the ordinary happens on Ibiza and less in Es Cana, sorry. August 14/15 are the dates of the fiestas in Cala Llonga, though, which is about as close to Es Cana as you can get without being its best friend.

S. Eularia has four dive schools, a marina and two sailing clubs, so you should be able to find something watery to amuse yourself with.

I expect I'm showing my age, but what's a Quad bike?
