There are a number of good reasons to stay the night in Toledo:
it has some appealing hotels, charming rather than spectacular,
its bars and restaurants tend to be more enjoyable and service
better than at lunchtime when they are busier, and the sunset
over the city is justly famous. Most importantly, when the
tourist buses have left and the city belongs to the Toledanos
again, you can appreciate the beauty of the place with the
serenity it deserves. An aperitivo in the Plaza del
Zocodover is a must, then let yourself get lost in the winding
mediaeval streets.

* Most of the hotels on these
pages belong to one of the online hotel reservation
services with which this site is affiliated: Hotel Club,
Venere and WCT. The advantages for you are the convenience
of online booking and, in many cases, a reduced rate.
For example, the price for a night in a double room
in the 4-star Hotel Mayorazgo in Madrid in September
as given on the hotel's
web page is €170 plus IVA (value-added tax),
whereas the rate advertised by Hotel
Club is €125, including tax. And if you use
these services, I get a little commission which helps
towards the upkeep of this site.
If you have any complaints about Venere, Hotel Club
or WTC, I want to know about them - e-mail me at complaints.
And if you have a gripe about your hotel, by all means
feel free to let me know, though I am not in a position
to do anything about it.
