The Island
Ibiza-at2
Not a bad commercial site at all, though low on content. I
really include it because if you click the Union Jack, you
get a Google translation of the page with the kind of English
Manuel used to produce in Fawlty Towers: "...he is facil
to find a piece of paraiso hidden in some of the fabulous
coves..." Lovely. The best part of the site is found
clicking "Culture and History."
IbizaHolidays.com
Best of the Net
A splendid site, by "residents of Ibiza" who evidently
have a connection with the music scene but otherwise do not
identify themselves. Their content is too extensive to list,
but includes beaches, activities and sports, photos, towns
and villages, ... all looked at from a young but wry point
of view. The "Clubbing" section is almost a site
to itself, and is excellent, though I would have liked to
hear some samples. All told, very commendable, and I wish
them much success (though it is a bit naughty of them to put
other people's sites in frames like that)..
Ibiza
Magazine
It is difficult to see why they call this site a magazine,
as it is little more than a series of advertisements. Some
splendid photos, though.
Ibiza
Online
A rather confused and confusing site, much of which is devoid
of content, though it has good info on and photos of the playas,
beaches, and a somewhat racy nightlife section. I suspect
it has never been updated, though.
Ibiza
Spotlight Best of the Net
A commercial site, by far the best dealing with Ibiza, with
pretty well all you might need to know about the island. It
is especially good on nightlife, which is a reason to be grateful,
considering the importance of Ibiza as a club centre.
Ibiza
Hotels and Lodgings
Apart from the links to individual hotels given under "Places,"
try these reservation services with which SPV is affiliated:
Hotel
Club and Venere.
And if you are prepared to travel within the next 20 days,
Rates
To Go has some great last-minute bargains.
Clubbing
Ibiza
4clubbers
Clubbing is the main reason thousands of young people flock
to Ibiza every summer, so much so that to say "Ibiza
clubbing" is practically a tautology. This is a section
of a larger site dedicated to the UK club scene.
Ibiza
Clubbing
From Ibiza Spotlight (see above).
Clubs
Clubs are concentrated in Ibiza Town itself, San Antonio
and Playa d'en Bossa.
Amnesia
Originally an open-air discotheque, till the authorities obliged
them to cover it up. OK site, with good music.
Blue
Rose
Actually a strip club, which I include here because Ibiza
Spotlight does. Fantastic site.
Bora
Bora
Popular beachbar in Playa d'en Bossa. I can't find a website:
this is an old BBC page.
DC10
An afterhours, the name being explained by its proximity to
the airport. An impressive list of DJ's, if you think there
is anything impressive about DJ's.
Eden
Macrodisco In San Antonio, on the seafront. Relatively new,
OK website.
El
Divino
In the marina, and trying to be glamorous. Website not really
up to the task.
Es
Paradis
In San Antonio, and fairly central. OK site, with good music
and virtual flyers.
Guarana
Music Bar
In Santa Eulalia's marina. Nice website, nice music.
Pacha
The original. Great site, with better music than any of the
other clubs. See also pacha.com.
Privilege
The world's biggest club. Weird website: what is the point
of having to enter with password?
Soul
City
In San Antonio, free entrance, and a nice change from
all that techno. Mellow website.
Space
Described by Ibiza Spotlight as "possibly the world's
first Afterhours," in Playa d'en Bossa. I almost never
say this, but the website is horrid.
